Farewell, Skylum.Download FastRawViewer 2 latest full version offline complete setup for Windows. Until then, I guess it's back to Lightroom.
Perhaps some other company will find these forums and use them as user research for their software products aimed at photographers. And trying for a more Luminar-focused workflow leads to a loss of ratings for a hundred thousand photos-likely hundreds of hours worth of effort.
I'd like to preserve the edits I make in Luminar when saving for posterity, but the lack of folders or organization for “looks” means I can't even save them as presets reasonably. I don't want or need 16-bit TIFF files, and in most cases I don't want Lightroom edits applied before pulling into Luminar. But it's not a replacement for Lightroom yet, and my attempts to integrate it into a workflow that is compatible with Lightroom have resulted in a pile of “gotchas”. I don't love everything about it, but the fact that it shows a folder of photos quickly and I can scroll through them without lagging has been wonderful, as have the LUT and “smart” edit features.
The performance of Lightroom for browsing and editing has gotten worse over the last 10 years, somehow, and a lack of support for LUTs or smart contrast or creative edits have me looking for an alternative.įor the last couple years, Luminar has had my attention and hopes. I have a lifetime of photographs in various Lightroom Classic catalogs that far exceed the storage capabilities of Lightroom CC (and no desire to pay Adobe more money than I already do to store what I already store in the cloud). I'm in a similar position to many others. It seems that Skylum sees the AI filter marketplace as the future of their company, unfortunately.
